Information On The Duration Of Stay In Turkey For Norwegians Visiting Turkey For Tourism Purposes
1.Norwegian ordinary passport holders can obtain three month-multiple entry visas at the Turkish border gates and stay in Turkey up to 90 days within 6 months starting from the first entry date. Official passport holders are exempt from visa for their travels up to 90 days.
In other words, a Norwegian who was issued 3 months (90 days) multiple entry visa can stay in Turkey up to total 90 days in a six months period. This total 90 days can be several different time periods. He/She can depart from and enter into Turkey several times as long as his/her total time of stay does not exceed 90 days. On the other hand, this person is entitled to get a new 3 months (90 days) visa only after the completion of first six months period. For example, a person who was issued a visa on 1st of January can get a new visa only after 1st of July.
2.According to a new arrangement, Norwegian citizens will be able to extend their stay in Turkey after the 90 day period by applying to the Office of the Governor of the city where they reside in Turkey to obtain a touristic residence permit valid for 6 months. This additional 6 month period will start following the expiration of the 90 days touristic visa term, thus enabling the person to stay in Turkey without interruption up to a total of 9 months.
